Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius Stax and Control deck commanded by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. The primary strategy focuses on establishing early asymmetric mana advantage by taxing opposing spells while discounting your own. It layers restrictive permanents—such as Rule of Law, Winter Orb, Static Orb, Stasis, and Drannith Magistrate—to throttle opposing mana, limit spell casts, and disable activated abilities. Parity is broken through Augustin's cost reductions, Teferi, Hero of Dominaria land untaps, and Smothering Tithe treasure generation. Card draw engines like The One Ring, Rhystic Study, and Mystic Remora exploit opposing resource constraints to pull ahead. Once the board is locked down, the deck secures victory by casting and redrawing Approach of the Second Sun, protected by uncounterable spells and silence effects like Teferi, Time Raveler and Grand Abolisher.
