Deck overview

This is a Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy ramp-combo deck built around doubling mana from nonland permanents. Early mana creatures and Sol Ring accelerate Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy, while Basalt Monolith becomes an infinite colorless-mana engine once the commander is active. Walking Ballista is the main payoff: cast it with a large number of counters and distribute 40 damage to each opponent. Trophy Mage, Fabricate, Whir of Invention, and Moonsilver Key improve access to the artifact engine, while Trinket Mage can find Walking Ballista. The deck also carries a sizeable counterspell package and several protection effects. Its main limitation is joint access: tutors usually find only one missing piece, and the deck has few answers to opposing permanents. The ordinary kill is therefore closer to turn 6 than the explosive early lines available from favorable draws. Once assembled, however, the damage clock is immediate and gives opponents no subsequent turn.
