Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Dimir tempo-cheat deck piloted by Satoru Umezawa. Its primary objective is to deploy a cheap, unblockable creature on Turn 1, cast Satoru on Turn 3, and activate Satoru's universal ninjutsu ability on Turn 4 for four mana. This swaps an unblocked attacker for game-ending threats like Blightsteel Colossus, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Void Winnower, or Toxrill, the Corrosive while digging for cards via Satoru's trigger. An elite suite of free and low-cost countermagic—including Force of Negation, Pact of Negation, Flare of Denial, and Mindbreak Trap—shields the setup and stops opposing wins. The deck quickly eliminates one opponent on Turn 4 with lethal infect and closes the game across the subsequent two turn cycles.
