Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger deck built around Vivi Ornitier. The game plan revolves around casting cheap noncreature cantrips and interaction to trigger Vivi's ability, which places +1/+1 counters on Vivi and deals direct burn damage to all opponents. Vivi also acts as a primary mana engine by tapping for free mana equal to its power during your turn. The deck supports this game plan with secondary burn engines like Guttersnipe and Fiery Inscription, explosive token generators like Rite of the Dragoncaller, and deep card draw from Curiosity. Because the deck contains 12 counterspells and efficient instant-speed answers, it can disrupt opponents while advancing its own burn engine. While it lacks fast mana artifacts and specific tutors, its high density of 1-mana cantrips and 38 lands ensures consistent development toward a decisive Turn 5 onset and a Turn 6 table finish.
