Upping the Average - The Ur-Dragon Redux (Budget) by maggina

Format: Commander

Commander: The Ur-Dragon

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a classic five-color Dragon tribal stompy list helmed by The Ur-Dragon. The plan is straightforward: ramp hard, deploy cost reducers, flood the board with large flying Dragons, and convert that board into lethal combat damage. The Ur-Dragon's eminence discount is always online from the command zone, while its attack trigger draws cards equal to the number of attacking Dragons and cheats a permanent directly into play-turning every swing into massive card and board advantage. Primary wins come from overwhelming aerial combat amplified by Atarka, World Render, Thrakkus the Butcher, Hellkite Charger, and anthem effects. There are no infinite combos; the deck relies on raw Dragon power, token doublers like Lathliss, Dragon Queen and Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm, and recursion such as Eerie Ultimatum and Patriarch's Bidding to rebuild. Secondary value engines (Scourge of Valkas, Lozhan, Dragons' Legacy, Ziatora, the Incinerator) punish the table while the air force assembles.
