Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs classic Elfball acceleration with -1/-1 counter attrition led by High Perfect Morcant. In the opening turns, dense low-cost mana dorks such as Llanowar Elves and Priest of Titania establish rapid mana velocity. Deploying High Perfect Morcant on Turn 3 immediately blights opposing boards, distributing -1/-1 counters on opposing creatures whenever Elves enter. Synergies with Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Blowfly Infestation, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician clear opposing utility creatures and commanders while generating token armies. The deck transitions into a lethal finish on Turn 4 or 5 using overwhelming combat overruns from Craterhoof Behemoth, Ezuri, Renegade Leader, and Tyvar, the Pummeler, or infinite loops with Staff of Domination, Umbral Mantle, or Witherbloom Apprentice paired with Chain of Smog. While vulnerable to mass exile and noncreature combo strategies, its explosive ramp and redundant tutors make it remarkably fast and resilient.
