Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Aristocrats Combo-Control build helmed by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. It blends classic aristocrats attrition with compact creature-based infinite drain combos. The primary win condition revolves around sacrificing Gravecrawler to Warren Soultrader to generate Treasure tokens, using the mana to recast Gravecrawler while Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, or Ayara, First of Locthwain drains each opponent to zero in a single turn. Accelerated by fast mana like Dark Ritual, Sol Ring, and Phyrexian Tower, the deck reliably establishes its core engines by Turn 4 and threatens a lethal loop on Turn 5. Asymmetric board control cards such as Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and Tergrid, God of Fright systematically clear opposing creature boards and steal resources. While the deck boasts immense recovery and alternative finishers through Bolas's Citadel and Gray Merchant of Asphodel, it has limited stack interaction and minimal artifact removal, leaving its sorcery-speed combo steps exposed to targeted instant removal.
