Deck overview

This deck is a classic Selesnya life-gain-and-populate engine helmed by Trostani, Selesnya's Voice. The primary game plan is to generate an overwhelming board of creature tokens through populate effects like Growing Ranks and Song of the Worldsoul, while simultaneously gaining massive life from ETB triggers (Soul Warden, Angelic Chorus, Crested Sunmare). That life is then leveraged into a finisher: either a gigantic Storm Herd (creating one Pegasus per life point), an Aetherflux Reservoir activation, or a combat kill with Archangel of Thune and Ghalta and Mavren. The commander doubles as a repeatable life-gain enabler and a populate outlet, but the deck has enough redundancy to function in her absence. The deck runs a moderate interaction suite focused on spot removal and board wipes, but lacks counterspells or free spells, making it vulnerable to combo players who can win through its defenses.
