Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Mono-Black Aristocrats and Reanimator engine commanded by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The deck focuses on assembling sacrifice outlets and asymmetric attrition pieces during the early turns, using efficient ramp like Sol Ring, Jet Medallion, and Phyrexian Tower to accelerate into mid-game control. Once Grave Pact or recursive edict creatures like Plaguecrafter and Accursed Marauder hit the board, opposing creature strategies are systematically dismantled. Deploying Avacyn, Angel of Horror transforms temporary sacrifices into overwhelming continuous loops, returning all sacrificed nontoken creatures at the beginning of each end step. The deck closes out games by chaining high-devotion life drain through Gray Merchant of Asphodel, death triggers from Kokusho, the Evening Star and Syr Konrad, the Grim, or by casting explosive mass reanimation via Living Death and Rise of the Dark Realms.
