Commander: Hazel of the Rootbloom

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Golgari Squirrel deck builds a wide board of Squirrel, Food and Treasure tokens and wins by overwhelming combat or incremental drain. Hazel of the Rootbloom is a mana engine that taps untapped tokens for mana and copies a token at each end step, making two copies if it is a Squirrel. Chatterfang, Doubling Season and Parallel Lives multiply every token, while Squirrel Nest, Chitterspitter and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl generate Squirrels each turn. Beastmaster Ascension, Squirrel Sovereign and Honored Dreyleader turn the swarm lethal, and Zulaport Cutthroat, Nadier's Nightblade and Poison-Tip Archer drain opponents when tokens die. Torment of Hailfire acts as a late mana sink. The deck has no infinite combo and wins through grind and value.
