Commander: The Howling Abomination

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The Howling Abomination leads a fast Gruul storm and heroic-style burn strategy. The deck relies on targeting its commander with low-cost buff and cantrip spells to trigger its passive ability, dealing direct damage to all opponents while pumping its stats for lethal combat swings. By chaining one-mana targeting spells with card draw engines like Keen Sense and Season of Growth, the deck creates explosive turns that rapidly burn down the table. Secondary win conditions involve copying pump spells across wide boards using Zada, Hedron Grinder and Mirrorwing Dragon, or converting targeting triggers directly into poison kills with Venerated Rotpriest.
