the beef of yawgmoth by Soverign

Format: Commander

Commander: Yawgmoth, Thran Physician

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Yawgmoth, Thran Physician is the deck's primary engine and its only commander. Sacrificing a token to Yawgmoth draws a card and digs toward the combo, so the earliest turns focus on creating cheap fodder, then using Yawgmoth to find one of several sacrificing loops. The main kill is a recursive creature plus an altar and a death-drain payoff, usually Gravecrawler with a Zombie remaining on the battlefield. Secondary plans use Gray Merchant devotion, Mikaeus-style undying pressure, or K'rrik to accelerate. K'rrik is support, not a hidden commander; the list is built around Yawgmoth and the graveyard. The deck retains moderate function without him because altars, Carrion Feeder, and other draw engines remain.
