Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Mono-Black Aristocrats and Reanimator strategy commanded by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The deck focuses on assembling a robust engine of sacrifice outlets, recursive creatures, and death-trigger payoffs. Fast mana, cost reducers, and rituals accelerate setup into powerful engines like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Warren Soultrader, and Skullclamp. Once established, the deck leverages asymmetric board control through Grave Pact and The Darkness Crystal while draining opponents out using Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and Blood Artist effects. With deep redundancy, reanimation spells, and independent win conditions, the deck operates with minimal reliance on its 8-mana commander, utilizing Avacyn primarily as an endgame recursion engine.
