Deck overview

The Serpent Society commands a lethal Golgari deck combining deathtouch tribal mechanics, poison counters, and asymmetric sacrifice attrition. The deck deploys low-cost deathtouch creatures early to form an impenetrable defensive wall and attack uncontested. Casting the commander establishes an oppressive edict engine: whenever a deathtouch creature dies in combat or to sacrifice outlets, every opponent must sacrifice a nontoken creature. Meanwhile, the commander's ward ability inflicts five poison counters on anyone daring to target it. The deck converts combat contact into rapid player elimination using Fynn, the Fangbearer, toxic creatures, and Triumph of the Hordes. Proliferate engines like Evolution Sage, Contaminant Grafter, and Karn's Bastion tick poison counters up to lethal ten-counter thresholds without requiring ongoing combat connections. Dense recursion and token generation ensure your attrition loop grinds opposing boards down while your poison clock steadily ticks toward victory.
