Deck overview

This Grixis deck is commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord and blends Wraith tribal synergy with heavy graveyard reanimation. In the early game, the deck establishes its mana through talismans and lands while binning high-impact creature targets through loot effects and Entomb. Once Sauron enters the battlefield on Turn 5, he generates Orc Armies in response to opponent spellcasts and deters targeted removal with his steep legendary sacrifice ward. Connecting with an Army triggers the Ring tempts mechanic, enabling Sauron's ability to discard depleted hands and draw four fresh cards. This massive card velocity quickly accesses reanimation spells like Living Death, Reanimate, and Breach the Multiverse, returning game-ending threats like Toxrill, the Corrosive and Sheoldred, Whispering One alongside nine copies of Nazgûl that grow the entire board into lethal combat threats.
