Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir tempo build commanded by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. It leverages a critical mass of cheap, evasive one-mana creatures like Changeling Outcast and Slither Blade to trigger commander ninjutsu as early as Turn 2. Once in play, Yuriko bypasses the commander tax and turns unblocked Ninjas into card advantage and asymmetric burn. The deck maximizes this damage by manipulating the top of the library with cards like Brainstorm and Soothsaying to reveal high-mana-value spells such as Temporal Trespass and Dig Through Time, which are later cast cheaply using delve or alternate costs. A robust suite of low-cost and pitch counterspells protects the engine and disrupts critical opposing plays. While vulnerable to repeated creature removal and heavy blocker presence, the deck applies relentless table-wide pressure that reliably closes games by Turn 6.
