Alania Otter Spellslinger by Isanx

Format: Commander

Commander: Alania, Divergent Storm

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Alania, Divergent Storm is a spellslinger ping deck that wins by chaining instants and sorceries through damage engines, not combat or infinite combos. The primary plan stacks pingers such as Fiery Inscription, Guttersnipe, Vivi Ornitier and Coruscation Mage, then casts 3-5 spells per turn to deal 10-20 damage to each opponent. Alania acts as a value doubler, copying the first instant, first sorcery and first Otter you cast each turn if you let an opponent draw a card. Secondary paths use copied X-spells like Comet Storm and Crackle with Power. Veyran, Voice of Duality and Niv-Mizzet, Parun act as hidden commanders that double triggers or turn draws into damage.
