Deck overview

This Golgari deck uses Sarulf, Realm Eater as both a sweeper in the command zone and a Voltron threat. Early turns focus on casting Sarulf and accumulating +1/+1 counters through targeted removal spells and auras like Hydra's Growth. On upkeep, Sarulf can remove counters to exile all other nonland permanents with equal or lesser mana value, systematically stripping opponents of mana rocks, tokens, and utility creatures while preserving Sarulf. The deck protects its commander using a large suite of 1-mana protection spells such as Snakeskin Veil and Feign Death. As a backup win condition, the deck features an infinite creature combo combining Ivy Lane Denizen and Herd Baloth. The primary weakness is a very low land count of 27 lands, which causes occasional mana stalls.
