Deck overview

This Edgar Markov deck runs a fast Mardu Vampire tribal strategy that pairs go-wide combat aggression with aristocrat drain loops. Because Edgar generates a 1/1 Vampire token whenever you cast a Vampire spell from the command zone, the deck builds significant board presence without ever needing to cast its commander. Dense fast mana such as Chrome Mox, Mox Diamond, and Dark Ritual accelerates early development, enabling the deck to deploy cheap creatures and card draw engines like Skullclamp by Turn 3. Critical onset occurs on Turn 4 through explosive force multipliers such as Shared Animosity, Bloodletter of Aclazotz, or the infinite drain combo of Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Exquisite Blood. Protective spells like Grand Abolisher, Silence, and Clever Concealment defend the board against removal and sweepers. The deck reliably closes games on Turn 5 across combat damage and aristocrat death triggers.
