Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu battlecruiser strategy piloted by Kaalia of the Vast. Its primary goal is to accelerate into Kaalia, grant her safe attack opportunities, and cheat enormous, game-dominating Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. By circumventing the high casting costs of bombs like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Aurelia, the Warleader, and Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, the deck rapidly generates insurmountable combat pressure. It supports this aggressive beatdown plan with a robust suite of targeted removal, asymmetric board sweepers like Ruinous Ultimatum, and creature attrition engines such as Archfiend of Depravity. While the deck is capable of closing games swiftly once its aerial armada takes flight, it relies heavily on Kaalia surviving to combat and can struggle with hand depletion and high mana costs if Kaalia is repeatedly answered.
