Clive Mono Red

Format: Commander

Commander: Clive, Ifrit's Dominant // Ifrit, Warden of Inferno

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-red commander deck is helmed by Clive, Ifrit's Dominant // Ifrit, Warden of Inferno, a transformative engine that trades hand for devotion-fueled card draw and later provides massive mana through Ifrit's Brimstone ability. The deck pursues a high-damage combat plan: deploying devotion-boosting permanents, then leveraging damage multipliers like Fiery Emancipation, Gratuitous Violence, and Twinflame Tyrant to turn a single attacker into a lethal threat. Extra combat steps from Fear of Missing Out and Enduring Courage accelerate the clock, while treasure production (Goldspan Dragon, Professional Face-Breaker, Ancient Copper Dragon) and ritual spells (Seething Song, Mana Geyser) enable explosive turns. The commander transforms into a 9/9 trampleless body that can fight each turn, but the real payoff is the repeated Brimstone activations generating four red mana each upkeep. The deck lacks tutors and relies on drawing into its payoffs, making its game plan linear but hit-or-miss.
