Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Orzhov lifegain combo-control deck commanded by Karlov of the Ghost Council. The primary strategy centers on assembling compact, game-ending infinite combos—principally Heliod, Sun-Crowned paired with Walking Ballista, or Bloodthirsty Conqueror alongside Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. Karlov provides early defensive utility, rapid combat pressure, and on-board creature removal fueled by low-cost lifegain triggers like Soul Warden and Guide of Souls. The deck controls the board through high-efficiency removal spells like Swords to Plowshares and Toxic Deluge while slowing down opponents with asymmetric taxes like Blind Obedience and Dauthi Voidwalker. When ready to win, the deck utilizes powerful silence effects such as Voice of Victory, Silence, and Ranger-Captain of Eos to safely resolve its combo pieces and eliminate all three opponents in a single turn without allowing interaction.
