Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Clone and Shapeshifter strategy led by Taskmaster, Mercenary Mimic. The deck scales directly with the power level of the table by copying the strongest creatures on the battlefield and in graveyards. With over twenty-five clone variants and token-duplicating spells, the game plan focuses on establishing Taskmaster or an early clone, multiplying premier opposing threats, and overwhelming the table through combat damage. Tribal cost reducers like Urza's Incubator and Herald's Horn accelerate Shapeshifter deployment, while reanimation spells like Reanimate and Animate Dead exploit milled or destroyed opposing bombs. Interaction consists of efficient spot removal, cheap countermagic, and Cyclonic Rift for tempo swings. The deck is highly resilient to commander removal due to deep functional redundancy, but its clock depends heavily on opponent creature quality and remains vulnerable to board sweepers during multi-turn combat rotations.
