Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Rakdos Group Slug deck built around Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy focuses on deploying cheap, continuous damage sources like Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, and Kederekt Parasite on early turns, followed by casting Valgavoth on Turn 4. Because Valgavoth triggers whenever an opponent loses life for the first time on their turn, these passive pingers draw you up to 3 extra cards per turn cycle while rapidly growing the commander into a massive flying threat. The deck converts this immense card advantage into oppressive board control using punishing taxes such as Spellshock, anti-lifegain effects, and damage multipliers like Spiked Corridor // Torture Pit. The game closes around Turn 7 through overwhelming aerial combat damage, sustained global burn, and explosive sweepers like Chandra's Ignition.
