Smaug, Wicked Worm by Grimloch

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug, Wicked Worm

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Treasure deck helmed by Smaug, Wicked Worm, built around generating absurd numbers of Treasure tokens and converting them into card advantage, mana, and multiple overlapping win conditions. The commander's ETB bursts Treasures based on opponents' artifacts, and his triggered ability turns every Treasure-funded spell into a cantrip, making him the deck's primary draw engine. The deck leans on heavy redundancy - over twenty Treasure producers including Xorn, Brass's Bounty, Descent into Avernus, and a dragon subtheme - to fuel its finishes. Primary wins are the alternate conditions Revel in Riches and Hellkite Tyrant, massive X-spells like Torment of Hailfire and Crackle with Power, and artifact-drain payoffs such as Marionette Master, Reckless Fireweaver, and Ingenious Artillerist. It plays as an accumulation deck: build Treasures, convert them into a critical mass, then cash out.
