Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This mono-red Dragon deck is built around Smaug the Magnificent's attack trigger: it floods the board with Treasure tokens and then uses extra-combat effects to have Smaug hit multiple times while Goldspan Dragon and Xorn inflate the Treasure count. Smaug is the single commander, with no second face or Background active. His role is a haste-backed finisher and removal spell rather than an engine; the real engines are Treasure generators. A secondary path is Hellkite Tyrant's 20-artifact alternate win condition. The deck plays as a mid-speed aggro deck that can explode for lethal on turns 7-8.
