Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs classic Elf tribal acceleration with a dedicated counter and blight attrition strategy led by High Perfect Morcant. In the opening turns, cheap mana dorks such as Llanowar Elves, Elvish Mystic, and Woodland Weavemaster ramp into Morcant ahead of curve. Once Morcant lands on Turn 4, every entering Elf blights an opposing creature with a -1/-1 counter. Tapping three untapped Elves lets Morcant proliferate at sorcery speed, shrinking opposing blockers while multiplying friendly +1/+1 counters and poison counters.
