Deck overview

This Azorius deck focuses on Bird typal combat synergy led by Kastral, the Windcrested. The game plan deploys low-mana evasive flyers during the opening turns, accelerates into Kastral on Turn 4 or 5, and uses combat damage triggers to grow the flock, reanimate creatures, or draw cards. Multiple flying anthems such as Empyrean Eagle, Favorable Winds, and Steel-Plume Marshal scale early 1/1 and 1/2 flyers into serious aerial threats. The deck excels at evading ground defense and maintaining card velocity through combat connections. However, because it relies on dealing 120 combat damage across three opponents without infinite combos, it requires a committed creature board across multiple turn cycles, leaving it vulnerable to mass board wipes and targeted commander removal.
