Deck overview

Vren, the Relentless leads a Dimir Rat tribal and sacrifice control deck designed to suppress opposing boards while converting removed creatures into scaling threats. Vren replaces opposing creature deaths with exile and generates massive Relentless Rat tokens at each end step. The deck runs symmetric sacrifice effects like Accursed Marauder, Fleshbag Marauder, and Sheoldred's Edict to clear blockers and trigger Vren. You win either through overwhelming combat damage bolstered by Rat Colony, Marrow-Gnawer giving fear, and Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm, or by life drain engines using Ayara, First of Locthwain and Mirkwood Bats. An asymmetrical Living Death or Kindred Dominance seals late game victory.
