Format: Commander

Commander: Mizzix of the Izmagnus

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Mizzix of the Izmagnus leads a U/R spell-slinger deck that converts early instants and sorceries into experience counters, then uses the resulting cost reduction to make ritual spells and buyback-copy spells cheap enough to generate unbounded red mana. The main kill is an uncounterable Banefire, with Crackle with Power and Jaya's Immolating Inferno as backups. Proliferate spells, Wizards like Harmonic Prodigy and Veyran, and planeswalker burn form the secondary plan. Mizzix is the engine; Ral, Monsoon Mage // Ral, Leyline Prodigy acts as a hidden commander, providing a second cost-reduction front face and a planeswalker back that rewards spell density. Prismari, the Inspiration gives a storm finish when the loop is unavailable.
