Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Group Slug and Voltron Attrition strategy commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The primary game plan deploys early passive damage sources—such as Razorkin Needlehead, Fate Unraveler, and Mogis, God of Slaughter—that guarantee each opponent loses life during their own turn. Once Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls enters the battlefield on Turn 3 or 4, these life-loss triggers draw three extra cards per table rotation while steadily growing the commander with +1/+1 counters. This creates a dual-axis threat: an escalating aerial combat clock paired with relentless table-wide burn. The deck transitions into a closing state around Turn 5, using damage amplifiers like Spiked Corridor // Torture Pit, heavy punishers like The Lord of Pain, and burst finishers such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Essence Harvest to eliminate all opponents by Turn 8. High redundancy offsets a lack of tutors, though reliance on permanents leaves it susceptible to sweepers.
