Deck overview

This Dimir spellslinger deck utilizes Lord of the Nazgûl to transform cheap cantrips, efficient removal, and protective counterspells into an aggressive army of 3/3 black Wraith tokens with menace. Accelerated by a dense suite of two-mana artifacts, the deck reliably deploys its commander on Turn 4 and begins generating Wraith tokens on Turn 5. Multiple copies of Nazgûl boost the power of all Wraiths each time the Ring tempts you, while clone effects like Irenicus's Vile Duplication rapidly duplicate token production. Asymmetric board control from Raise the Palisade and Toxic Deluge clears opposing blockers, allowing the menace army to close out the game through combat damage by Turn 8. High card velocity through premier cantrips and tutors ensures consistent access to answers and protection like Force of Will and Swan Song. If the commander is removed, backup token creators such as Talrand, Sky Summoner and Murmuring Mystic maintain pressure with minimal tempo loss.
