Deck overview

This deck is a five-color storm combo deck commanded by Codie, Ravenous Codex. It revolves around the Prepare mechanic, where creatures enter prepared and allow you to cast copies of their associated adventure-like spells. Codie automatically copies every prepared spell you cast, doubling your resource generation and draw power. By combining cheap prepare spells with magecraft engines like Storm-Kiln Artist and blink triggers from Displacer Kitten, the deck generates infinite mana, blinks prepare creatures to re-prepare them continuously, and draws its entire library. Out-of-hand cast triggers like Nico Minoru, Runaway, Vega, the Watcher, and Longshot, Rebel Bowman convert every cast spell into direct damage and card advantage, enabling a lethal same-turn kill on Turn 4. The deck is backed by an efficient interaction suite including free commander spells like Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat to safeguard the win attempt.
