Deck overview

Shelob, Dread Weaver leads a mono-black control strategy focused on -1/-1 counters, persistent attrition, and asymmetric board denial. The deck uses early turns to develop mana with rocks like Sol Ring and Jet Medallion while establishing draw engines like Black Market Connections. Once Shelob enters the battlefield, any opposing creature that dies is permanently exiled, shutting down graveyard recursion and death triggers across the table. The deck then uses modular removal, wither creatures, and sweepers like Black Sun's Zenith and Massacre Wurm to decimate opposing boards. As opponents lose their creatures, Shelob consumes exiled cards to grow in size and draw cards, or pays mana to reanimate opposing threats under your control. Alternative win conditions include an infinite death loop with Blowfly Infestation, Nest of Scarabs, and The Meathook Massacre. While vulnerable to artifact-heavy strategies and enchantment removal, the deck excels at suppressing creature-based opponents and converting their resources into lethal combat pressure.
