Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Ninjutsu tempo and cheat strategy led by Satoru Umezawa. Its primary game plan is to deploy a cheap, unblockable creature on Turn 1, cast Satoru on Turn 3, and activate ninjutsu on Turn 4 to put massive high-cost creatures directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Payoffs like Archon of Cruelty, Darksteel Colossus, Hullbreaker Horror, and Rottenmouth Viper generate immediate card advantage, life swings, and board attrition while Satoru's triggered ability digs three cards deep to find further action. The deck features extreme functional redundancy among its evasive enablers and high-end payoffs, ensuring consistent early execution. While the deck applies heavy pressure and asymmetric disruption starting on Turn 4, it lacks infinite combos and relies on combat damage to close the game, requiring multiple turn cycles to eliminate three opponents. This creates windows where opponents can disrupt the engine with well-timed creature removal or sweepers.
