Smaugy Treasure lives by Ulty

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug the Impenetrable anchors a Rakdos treasure deck that mints Treasures by pointing noncombat damage at its own indestructible commander, then converts that hoard into X-spell burns or artifact-based alternate wins. Professor Onyx plus Chain of Smog is the compact combo kill, while the two other Smaug legends-the Magnificent and Wicked Worm-act as hidden commanders reinforcing the same token plan. Alternative win lines include Hellkite Tyrant, Revel in Riches, and Mirkwood Bats after a large Treasure burst. The deck is aggressive and redundancy-rich, with tutor access to both combo pieces, but it is vulnerable to graveyard hate and instant-speed removal aimed at Onyx.
