Smaug daug by ChandlerJ

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug the Magnificent anchors a mono-red treasure engine that aims to produce a flood of artifact tokens every turn. The primary plan is to cast Smaug early, let his upkeep token and attack trigger turn accumulated Treasures into direct damage, while Xorn and Academy Manufactor multiply token output. Secondary paths include burning with pingers such as Reckless Fireweaver and Hedron Detonator, or racing to twenty artifacts for Hellkite Tyrant's alternate win. Ojer Axonil and Solphim turn Smaug's burn into one-shot-scale damage. The deck has no true hidden commander, though Ojer Axonil acts as a damage amplifier. It is a midrange build that can rebuild after board wipes but depends on keeping artifact tokens on the battlefield.
