Deck overview

This deck is an Esper 'Tribal Tribal' strategy powered by The Ur-Sphinx in the command zone. The commander provides a passive Eminence discount of {1} to all Sphinx spells without ever needing to enter the battlefield, effectively discounting every Shapeshifter creature with changeling. The deck leverages this acceleration to rapidly deploy low-cost changelings that simultaneously count as every creature type in Magic. Once assembled, these changelings trigger a broad spectrum of kindred payoffs: drawing cards with Merfolk and Ninjas (Svyelun of Sea and Sky, Ingenious Infiltrator), stealing threats with Vampires (Captivating Vampire), and casting free spells with Zombies (Rooftop Storm). The primary win condition revolves around overwhelming combat damage amplified by universal anthems such as Coat of Arms, Mirror Entity, and Thrumming Hivepool, backed by asymmetric wipes like Crux of Fate. While vulnerable to mass non-targeting removal, the deck maintains steady tempo and card flow to overwhelm opponents.
