The misty mountains call by Msiv74

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos "hurt the dragon" Treasures deck built around Smaug the Impenetrable. The core plan is to resolve Smaug, point noncombat damage at him with cards like Pyrohemia, Self-Destruct, Blazing Sunsteel, and Pariah's Shield, and let his indestructible body convert every point of damage into Treasure tokens. Once the Treasure count gets high, the deck finishes with Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, Fireball, or via drain creatures like Mirkwood Bats, Nadier's Nightblade, and Mayhem Devil. The commander's haste also makes him an immediate 8/7 flying attacker while the engine comes online. Secondary routes include Revel in Riches, Hellkite Tyrant, and a support package of hasty Dragon beaters. This is a combo-value hybrid: it wants to assemble a two-card damage loop, but it can also play a credible midrange Treasure game.
