Deck overview

This deck is a casual Grixis theft and typal midrange strategy led by Don Andres, the Renegade. Its main goal is to steal opposing creature and noncreature spells, turning stolen creatures into buffed Pirates with menace and deathtouch while generating Treasure tokens from noncreature spells. The list bridges Pirate and Vampire typal synergies using cards like Arcane Adaptation and Maskwood Nexus, allowing payoffs from both tribes to cross-pollinate. The early game focuses on developing mana rocks and casting low-drop enablers. In the mid-to-late game, the deck leverages mass reanimation and theft spells such as Breach the Multiverse, Blatant Thievery, and Living Death to build an overwhelming combat presence. While the deck boasts strong recovery through graveyard recursion, its low land count and high concentration of taplands create mana friction, and its lack of cheap countermagic leaves its board exposed to opposing sweepers.
