Azula and copy by Kalhen

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a high-tempo Grixis spellslinger deck built around Fire Lord Azula's unique combat-based copy ability. The commander generates red mana through firebending on attack and copies every spell you cast while attacking, turning combat steps into explosive spell-slinging turns. The deck primarily wins through storm lines, leveraging massive mana generation from rituals, Birgi, God of Storytelling, and Storm-Kiln Artist to chain spells with Thousand-Year Storm or Aetherflux Reservoir-style advantage (though the actual win is Grapeshot or Brain Freeze). Underworld Breach plus Lion's Eye Diamond style loops enable infinite storm, and copy effects like Dualcaster Mage + Twinning Staff create redundant win angles. The deck can also burn opponents out through Guttersnipe and Ozai, the Phoenix King as backup. It moves fast and plays many spells in a single combat step.
