Deck overview

This Jeskai deck uses Gandalf, Party Guest to turn legendary Wizard tribal synergy into explosive mana cheating. The early game establishes a board of low-cost legendary Wizards like Baral, Chief of Compliance, Ral, Monsoon Mage, and Vivi Ornitier that provide ramp, cost reduction, and card filtering. Once Gandalf enters the battlefield on Turn 4, the combat trigger calculates twice the number of legendary Wizards you control to cast high-mana instants and sorceries from hand for free. This enables massive mid-game tempo swings on Turn 5 through extra turns like Time Warp and Time Stretch, asymmetric wipes such as Urza's Ruinous Blast and Raise the Palisade, or game-ending board pumps with Adeliz, the Cinder Wind, Balmor, Battlemage Captain, and Akroma's Will. Because Gandalf cheats spell costs at combat, your lands remain untapped to hold up interactive countermagic and protective spells. The deck closes games swiftly by chaining extra turns and overwhelming opponents with unblockable, prowess-buffed combat damage.
