Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir evasive aggro and defender-synergy build commanded by Vela the Night-Clad. The game plan starts by deploying low-cost, naturally unblockable creatures like Mist-Cloaked Herald, Slither Blade, and Triton Shorestalker alongside efficient mana rocks. In the midgame, the deck leverages Walking Bulwark to convert high-toughness defenders into surprise attackers, while Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive and Deepchannel Mentor ensure full team evasion. Casting Vela grants intimidate to remaining creatures and turns creature deaths or bounce effects into table-wide life drain. The deck controls the pace using targeted removal like Go for the Throat, counterspells such as Negate, and mass bounce from Aether Gale. While it features consistent mana acceleration and redundant evasive threats, the deck lacks explosive combos or fast clock acceleration, requiring careful defense against sweepers to close out long games through continuous unblockable combat damage.
