Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir midrange control strategy that converts opposing creature removal into an overwhelming, scaling army of Relentless Rat tokens. Led by Vren, the Relentless, the deck uses asymmetric sacrifice effects and low-cost removal to clear opposing boards while permanently exiling threats to nullify graveyard recursion. At each end step, Vren replaces these exiled creatures with Rat tokens that grant each other static power and toughness boosts. The list leverages premier interaction like Fierce Guardianship, Deadly Rollick, and Toxic Deluge to protect its board and dismantle faster threats. Card advantage engines such as Rhystic Study and Bident of Thassa maintain resources while tribal lords like Marrow-Gnawer and Karumonix, the Rat King provide evasion and secondary win conditions. The deck reliably takes control of the board by Turn 4–5 and eliminates the table through massive, evasive combat swings by Turn 7.
