Deck overview

This Orzhov Stax deck leverages Drana and Linvala to lock opponents out of their activated abilities while the commander itself can use those same abilities. The primary game plan is to deploy a dense suite of hatebears (Drannith Magistrate, Archon of Emeria, Rule of Law), taxing effects (Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Spirit of the Labyrinth), and graveyard/search denial (Leyline of the Void, Aven Mindcensor, Opposition Agent) to create a prison that opponents cannot crack. The deck's win condition is an infinite combo between Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Walking Ballista: Heliod grants lifelink, Ballista pings itself, gaining life to trigger Heliod's +1/+1 counter, which is then removed to repeat indefinitely. Secondary wins come through commander damage from Drana and Linvala backed by equipment (Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots) or through punishing draw triggers with Orcish Bowmasters and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The deck is highly tuned to control the table's resources and assemble its combo through a compact tutor package.
