Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir Zombie tribal strategy led by Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver. The primary game plan establishes an efficient board presence with cheap Zombies, converts creature deaths into card advantage and 2/2 decayed tokens, and overwhelms opponents through combat buffs and aristocrat life drain. Acceleration from mana rocks allows Wilhelt to enter consistently on Turn 4. Once online, the engine compounds board presence through token multipliers like Diregraf Colossus and Headless Rider, while lords such as Death Baron and Undead Warchief give the swarm evasion and high combat stats. Aristocrat payoffs like Diregraf Captain, Plague Belcher, and Bastion of Remembrance punish opponents for wiping the board and convert token sacrifices into direct damage. High-impact spells such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Rooftop Storm, and Army of the Damned provide powerful late-game burst potential to close out games.
