Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius artifact-midrange strategy led by Shorikai, Genesis Engine. Shorikai provides a resilient card-advantage engine and token generator from the command zone while naturally dodging sorcery-speed creature removal. The deck accelerates in the early turns using 2-mana artifacts, deploys Shorikai on turn 3, and begins drawing cards and generating Pilot tokens on turn 4. It converts artifact deployment into overwhelming board power through engines like Simulacrum Synthesizer, Illustrious Wanderglyph, and Sai, Master Thopterist, while animating large combat threats like Thunderhawk Gunship and Peacewalker Colossus. Defensive pieces like Lavinia, Azorius Renegade slow down fast strategies, while Padeem, Consul of Innovation and Rebbec, Architect of Ascension protect the board alongside free counterspells. The deck steadily grinds out value and finishes opponents with evasive Construct, Gnome, and Vehicle attacks by turn 8.
