Deck overview

This Golgari deck is commanded by Ygra, Eater of All, focusing on Food token generation, sacrifice value engines, and aggressive Voltron commander damage. The game plan accelerates mana on early turns with efficient mana elves and ramp spells, casting Ygra on Turn 4. Once in play, Ygra turns all other creatures into Food artifacts, converting every creature death or Food sacrifice into permanent +1/+1 counters. By Turn 5, Ygra attacks as a massive threat protected by its Ward cost. Synergies like Bane of Progress destroy all opposing creatures that Ygra turned into artifacts while growing Ygra to enormous power. The deck supplements its primary combat clock with steady card draw from Greta, Sweettooth Scourge and Bonecache Overseer, alongside backup go-wide pressure from Camellia, the Seedmiser and Feasting Hobbit. While the deck features dense ramp and versatile permanent removal, it relies on natural draws for trample and protection.
