Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Izzet token-swarm and combo strategy led by The Locust God. The game plan accelerates through 2-CMC mana artifacts to cast the commander ahead of curve on turn 4 or 5. Once The Locust God resolves, every card drawn creates a 1/1 flying Insect token with haste. The deck converts card draw into explosive board presence and lethal burn damage through cards like Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, and Agate Instigator. Its primary win condition is a two-card infinite combo with Sage of the Falls, which draws the entire library and generates dozens of hasty flying attackers to eliminate the table in a single turn. Free counterspells like Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat protect the engine, while Skullclamp and wheel effects provide massive card velocity.
