Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger strategy built around Alania, Divergent Storm and synergistic Otter creatures. It focuses on developing mana during the early turns, establishing low-cost prowess and burn engines, and resolving Alania by turn 5. Once online, Alania copies the first instant, sorcery, or Otter spell cast each turn, converting standard cantrips into massive card advantage and turn-taking spells into game-ending tempo swings. The deck transitions into a lethal win through unblockable combat damage with Bria, Riptide Rogue, direct burn with Coruscation Mage, or infinite turns using Time Warp and Narset's Reversal. A dense interactive suite featuring Cyclonic Rift, Deflecting Swat, and Mana Drain safeguards the engine against opposing threats while maintaining high stack control throughout the mid-to-late game.
